Keycap Profiles: Cherry, OEM, SA, and DSA

The shape of your keycaps changes how your fingers land. A quick tour of the major profiles.

Keycap profile describes the height and shape of each key. OEM is the common default: medium height with gently sculpted rows that guide your fingers. Cherry profile is similar but slightly shorter, beloved by enthusiasts for its comfortable, low-fatigue feel during long sessions.

SA profile is tall and dramatically sculpted with a spherical top, giving a retro typewriter look and a distinctive sound. It is gorgeous but takes adjustment, as the extra height changes your reach. DSA, by contrast, is low and uniform across every row, with flat spherical tops.

Profile is deeply personal and affects both feel and acoustics. If you type for hours, try to test a profile before buying a full set, because the difference between a sculpted and a flat board can noticeably change your accuracy and comfort.
